Chill Winston soft launch tomorrow

Chill Winston soft launches today. The long awaited new restaurant located at the junction of Carrall, Water, Alexander and Powell.

Update (6/30/2006 02:15 am): Caught the tail end of the evening tonight and a few photos which are posted on my flickr site under the tag Chill Winston. One thing to check out is the unisex bathroom. Very cool. I promised not to take any pictures until the sink they intended to install in the common area of the bathroom arrives.

They did open for Jazz Fest in Gastown over the weekend but I was out frolicking in Calgary. I hear they did pretty well but Sonia, one of the owners, looked pretty exhausted today. Opening a restaurant isn’t always fun and games.

(the owner of the building wanted to use 1 Alexander Street but technically, it is 1 Alexander as well)…

    Two interesting developments, looks like Chill Winston may be the ideal place for us to have the Urban Mixer and Smart / Mercedes Benz collaborative event, speed dating sponsored by Smart. Just need to get a ramp together for the project.

    Secondly, spoke to a former Century employee. I guess it’s not all fun and games there right now. What was an amazing launch has slowly drizzeled off and the staff can’t make enough to survive there so they’re off to new destinations. On the positive, looks like Century may have a new, highly acclaimed by said former employee, menu (couldn’t wrap my head around the old one) so I’ll have to check it out this weekend and see if it holds its’ own.

    Word on the street is that people are calling this place Chili Winston. It’s actually Chill Winston. I’m sure it gets it’s roots from the Urban Saying “Chill Winston” ..
