Next Noodle Bar opened up a week ago on Robson Street near Seymour and hosts what they call “Endless Asian Cuisine”.

I had a chance to dine there the other night and must say, the food is pretty good. Hmm.. maybe I should go there for a bite right now. Okay, but before that, I’ll blog about the place.

    Dear Raj,

The session to decide the fate of Whitecaps Waterfront Stadium continues tonight at City Hall. Scheduled speakers will begin at 7:30pm in Council Chambers on the 3rd Floor.

As we approach the end of this public process, it continues to be important for all supporters of this project to make their voice heard. Although no further speakers will be accepted, we encourage everyone to attend all or part of tonight’s session. Your presence will go a long way in demonstrating the wide spread support to Mayor and Council.

If you can’t attend, emails can still be sent to City Hall. Send your email now.

101 bottles of diet coke, 523 mentos, 2 mad scientists

Taking from Lorraine Murphy’s post, people want to see the 101 bottles of diet coke, 523 mentos and 2 mad scientists but one of the producers of the video has been crying foul of postings on the likes of YouTube and Google Video and want to redirect people to a site where they earn revenues. Revver.com or something like that. So here it is, the video for your viewing pleasure:

Bardot Waterside Bar & Grille to open July 7th, 2006

Formerly the Quay on Marinaside Drive in Vancouver, the Vintropolis Group of Kitsilano fame are now opening up a new restaurant in Yaletown.

The word on the street was that they were going to name the place Vintropolis II or something silly like that but after rants from the local foodie community, they’ve settled on Bardot Waterside Bar & Grille.

    Here’s the details:

    Opening July 7th, 2006 at 5 PM
    Bardot Waterside Bar & Grille
    Address: 1127 Marinaside Crescent, Vancouver
    Telephone: 604.683.5335

I’ll put some photos up as I get a chance to actually get to the place. I’d love to see what they did with the place since the original owners sold the restaurant to the Bodog people. Didn’t last very long as a Bodog venue, I guess the LA lifestyle is going well, but that’s another story.

    Chill Winston soft launch tomorrow

Chill Winston soft launches today. The long awaited new restaurant located at the junction of Carrall, Water, Alexander and Powell.

Update (6/30/2006 02:15 am): Caught the tail end of the evening tonight and a few photos which are posted on my flickr site under the tag Chill Winston. One thing to check out is the unisex bathroom. Very cool. I promised not to take any pictures until the sink they intended to install in the common area of the bathroom arrives.

They did open for Jazz Fest in Gastown over the weekend but I was out frolicking in Calgary. I hear they did pretty well but Sonia, one of the owners, looked pretty exhausted today. Opening a restaurant isn’t always fun and games.

    Address: 3 Alexander Street, Vancouver

(the owner of the building wanted to use 1 Alexander Street but technically, it is 1 Alexander as well)…

More details as soon as I have a chance to check it out…

Take a look at my photos (including some exclusive pre-construction photos) tagged Chill Winston on flickr here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/urbanmixer/tags/chillwinston/

    Whineo’s on Granville Street, Vancouver

Not to be mistaken with Wineos, Winos, Wineo’s, Wino’s or other similar sounding names (liquor board turned those renditions down) recently opened up on Granville Street.

    Address: 1017 Granville Street, Vancouver
    Phone: 604-669-WINE

My last visit there was great! The manager, Josh Manuel and his staff were very accommodating. Started off with some food, some beer, rillettes were very memorable. Then Josh pulled out a glass of MontGras, splendid.

Little known fact: Whineo’s has a secret, hidden room behind the bookcase near the bar. It’s called the Scooby Doo Room since they had so many hidden rooms behind bookcases in the cartoon.
Things to check out in the photos below… The before and after shots of the restaurant. Apparently the place was a sex shop before it became the fine restaurant it is today.

For updates on photos, check out my photos tagged Whineo’s in my flickr stream here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/urbanmixer/tags/whineos/
