Trev’s a good friend, he’s been out and about for the last little while doing his thing in Tokyo. We went out on Saturday night, had a good time at no place other than Tokyo Lounge. The irony!
A couple clips from Saturday Night Out:
A Yoga Group called Yoga With Yo! recently hit my radar. The instructor, Yolanda, seems to be pretty social and she was promoting a couple events such as a Buddha Feast at Foundation Restaurant and a Rock Climbing event down at Cliffhanger so I thought what the hay and decided to sign up for the rock climbing event. I also promoted it as part of the Urban Mixer since I figured more of our people would be a good thing. Tanya Romanuk (of Capones fame) signed up for the event too and we had a hoot. The crowd wasn’t overly social but it did get my creative juices flowing and I did definitely enjoy the overall activity – something to do again soon! After the event, T and I went for tea at Don’t Show the Elephant.
Early in January, I invted a whole contingent of Frances friends to conspire against her and come out to a surprise birthday party. We went to Vintropolis where the wine was great, the food excellent but little to be desired from the service. The food got to us in time but overall, not wowed by the place. Ten of us had a fabulous dinner that night.
After the dinner, we went to Richards on Richards for the Tsunami Fundraiser. What an awesome evening! The lineup was great. First, they had Green Tara Sing her soulfoul beats, then they had No Luck Club scratching the house down with their turntables, then they had Killa Kella who is world renown for entertaining people without the accompaniment of any background music, then what we came out for in the first place, Sekoya.
People seen: Moneca Delain of New School fame (she’s since moved on to do her own thing), we had a nice catchup chat and said hi. Lorenzo Pederzani, the founder of Summer Sundays, always present and having a good time.
