After the media club event, I grabbed Brady and Frances and we went to check out Chambar. A nice spot located on Beatty close to Stadium Station.
Chambar was great. The food was unique, the service was excellent as well and the vibe was good. Natalie the server was very kind and put up with my incessant friendliness. I had the Halibut, Frances the Tuna and Brady the Lamb. After that, we endulged in dessert – Rosewater Creme Brulee and a Mocha Coffee desert dish that Frances enjoyed. Didn’t try it. Also, during dinner, met Ziya and Sudha of Zed TV on CBC. Ziya is relally nice, she was quite receptive to me introducing Brady and I as stalkers. Sudha was also very nice, we had a brief chat about the Centre for Indo Canadian Studies and Research and he was interested in helping propagate the topic which is always good – media is good!!
On the way out of Chambar, I said hi to Neko and Karri – the owners. They introduced us to their friends for whom I can’t remember their names for the life of me (I must be getting tired). One lady owns a clothing store on Commercial. We chatted about how the people were nice at Chambar (not stuck up as they usually are in vancouver) a good segue into speaking about the Social Empire and how our social clubs work. Interestingly, Karri, even though her establishment is packed all the time, expressed some really good interest in having one of our events there. It would be great to have a mixer held with such nice people as owners.
